A valve is a mechanical tool used to regulate, control or direct the flow of different fluids, such as slurries, fluidized solids, liquids or gases, by closing or opening, or partially blocking the flow of fluids. Simply put, it is a device that can control the pressure and flow of different fluids in a process or system. Valves are mainly used to regulate pressure and flow.

Technically, a valve is like a fitting, but it's often described as a special category. When the valve is open, liquid or gas flows from the high pressure side to the low pressure side.

The oldest and simplest valve is a hinged flap that swivels down to prevent flow of fluid (liquid or gas) in one direction. However, the most common type of valve used in compressed air organizations is the ball valve.

These types of globe valves have a ball plug. This plug acts as the control element. Mostly ball valves are used in different chemical industries. Used when a combination of shutdown and throttling is desired. Therefore, it has good fluidity. Therefore, it is a two-way ball, the ball turns alternately between the elastic valve seats. These valves are compact, low maintenance and require no lubrication. There are three types of ball valves: full flow channel, reduced diameter and adventure. These types of valves do not use a handwheel to control the flow of liquid, but a wrench to control it.

When it is necessary to open the shut-off valve, the handle is placed flat according to the flow direction. When the valve needs to be closed, it forms a 90-degree angle to the flow direction so that the status of the valve can be easily seen. These valves can be opened and closed by turning the ball a quarter turn. They don't throttle well. It varies in size from 6mm to 900mm. These can be used for temperatures up to 300°C and pressures up to 500 kg/cm. Widely used in different machinery industries.
